How do I know if my credit or debit card has the ability to make contactless payments?

You know you can make contactless payments (See: What is contactless payment?) with your credit or debit card if you see one of these names on the front or back of the card: American Express ExpressPay, Discover Network Zip, MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave. Some issuers also have their own contactless brand, such as blink from JPMorgan Chase.

Some of the issuers providing contactless cards include Advanta, American Express, Bank of America, Citibank, Citizens Bank, GE Consumer Finance, HSBC Bank, JPMorgan Chase, KeyBank, Meijer Stores, US Bank or Wells Fargo. Merchants such as McDonald's, 7-Eleven, AMC Theaters, Regal Theaters, CVS/pharmacy, Arby's, Wawa, Sheetz and Best Buy accept contactless payments.
