This includes a certified copy of your birth certificate, naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship. Many countries also require you to provide government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license, as well as a passport application form, and two identical current photos of yourself. These items, along with your passport fee, are the typical items you will need to obtain your passport.

The photos that you provide for your passport must meet international travel document requirements. This means they must be high resolution, full color photos of your face. In many countries, you can have these photos taken at your local postal office. For specific information on the photo requirements and where to get your photo taken, visit your government's passport Web site.
