The strongest form of banking encryption is called “128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL).” This is the means by which your bank will scramble your data when you transmit information over the Internet, so it cannot be understood if your information were to be intercepted.  If you see a small padlock or a key in the bottom corner of your browser, and the Internet address changes from “http” to “https”, great!  This indicates that your information is being encrypted.  (See also, How does Internet security work?)
