How BYOD Can Solve the Password Problem

It's one of the hottest problems in technology, but when you use passwords to access your online accounts or your company’s network, how safe are you? The answer, unfortunately, is not very.

“Don’t worry mom, I will just go online.”

This is what I hear from my daughter when she has forgotten a friend’s birthday. We allow her to shop online because it works for everyone. I am not stuck trying to squeeze in a trip to the mall and she can find just about anything she wants at a great price. With her propensity for last-minute shopping, I can look forward to hearing this response a lot more during the upcoming holiday season.

The Internet: Our Shared Responsibility

It’s hard to believe that it’s autumn already. Before you know it, the leaves are going to start falling and the kids are going to start fretting over what they want to dress up as for Halloween this year. It will also be a time to once again turn our thoughts toward staying safe online since October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The top 10 ways to be a better cyber citizen

Are You A Good Cyber Citizen?

This question is particularly timely in October as we promote National Cyber Security Month, an annual, nation-wide event that aims to raise awareness about cyber security. This year’s theme, “Our Shared Responsibility,” emphasizes the role each of us plays in securing our part of cyberspace, including the devices we own and networks we use. This mission is central to the JustAskGemalto community, a service we launched in 2009 to help consumers learn how to take control of their own digital security.
How my trip to the U.K. left me with a chip on my shoulder!

Are we really heading back to traveler’s checks or cash? Americans traveling to Europe are experiencing trouble with their magnetic swipe credit and debit cards when traveling abroad.

New kiosks in London and Paris for bicycles and parking do not accept our American cards. Rural stores with few tourists are unaccustomed to the old swipe technology. As this happens, Americans are adjusting by keeping their cards in their wallets and returning to cash.

Do you feel that your identity is safe when using the Internet? President Obama wants you, and other consumers like you, to feel secure online. Rising concerns over online identity theft and weak cybersecurity have led President Obama to task a group to help protect you and your online identity.
