Money transfer by SMS: How does it work?

tag / cell phone - mobile banking - mobile phone

Money transfer by SMS is a value added service that allows you to send and receive money, and transfer money amongst your own accounts. Typically consumers sign up for the service through the application provider, download the application, and register a bank account. To transfer money, consumers follow the instructions provided by the application provider. For example, the PayPal SMS money transfer application requires users to send a SMS to 729725 containing the amount and destination of the payment. The destination can be another mobile number, a regular landline number, or the person's PayPal email address.
