What is microblogging?

Microblogging is a form of blogging where users post very brief messages for a network of people to see. Using a blog is considered “micro” when it contains 200 characters or less. One of the most popular microblogging sites right now is Twitter. The free service allows users to post microblogs via short message service (SMS), e-mail, or Web browser. You can look at Twitter by visiting http://www.twitter.com.
