How can I send or receive an email with an attached file larger than 10 MB?

tag / email - large file exchange

Many email service providers do not allow you to send or receive files more than 10 MB in size.  Fortunately there are a number of Web-based services, both free or at a low monthly cost, that make it simple for you to exchange large files with others, even files as large as 2 GB. These sites have a simple form where you put your email address, the recipient’s email address, a short message and a button that lets you upload your file.  Your recipient receives the short email and a link to a button to download your file. Features to compare include maximum file size, number of transfers per month, how long files stay available at the site, whether you need to create an account, security options like password encryption (scrambling your data for confidentiality) and cost. Of course, the more you need to use the service, like for your business, the more you are likely to pay a monthly charge.  Some companies providing these services are YouSendIt, MegaUpload, zUpload, DropSend, MailBigFile, LeapFILE and MediaMax.
